I started working on my site on Monday, March2. I am so techie-challenged you would be shocked! I am not ashamed to admit that I got through all the “stuff” in the Quick Start guide with the help of the Angel. When I started setting up my page, I used the video step by step, listening and pausing it to do the actions described. It was so easy. I am so proud. I think it looks great. I have never done anything like this before. I sure wish the Google Analytics had been this easy…LOL.
Thanks for this great training and also thanks for this great program. I am confident that I will create an awesome site. You are exactly right when you say that a person doesn’t need to understand what is happening to do this successfully. I am, an my site is, definitely proof of that!
Blessings!
WOW Sharon! That is SO awesome! Congrats on the accomplishment!
And thanks for the kudos & feedback on how easy the software is to use, especially with the Click-n-Drag Page Designer, to build your Hub Site.
[...] with your Marketing PRO pages is just like customizing your Hub Site home page (covered in a separate webinar video here.) But there are some extra tricks and tips to laying out a highly effective landing page or sales [...]
Great training. I listened maybe four times and worked on my site in an open window, and finally feel I’m getting somewhere. I’m not really clear, though, about the use of Blog pages. I have business content and product content in my Blog posts. They each have a different category, but I’m wondering what to use Blog pages for. Displayed posts will be product and business. Is this wise?
Also, wondering how I get help putting together a nice header for the Home Page.
Thanks!
Janice
AWESOME Janice! Congrats on getting your home page setup.
What you just got done would’ve cost hundreds of dollars for a web designer to setup for you (and hundreds more every time you wanted them to edit it for you.) And if you used a regular editor instead of our exclusive Click-n-Drag Page Designer it would’ve taken you hours more. It all get’s easier from here on in.
As far as your “blog page” question, I think that’ll be a good topic for a future members webinar. It deserves a much more detailed explanation on strategy than I can provide in writing here… but here it goes anyway.
A blog POST is used for regular article publication (using video or audio too) that is either time-sensitive (ie: related to news or a specific date), or is just part of the regular content you provide for your audience. Blog posts reside in the category archives (as you mentioned) and are also archived chronologically.
A blog PAGE would be used for more “evergreen” content that you’d like to have people interact with you on. Evergreen meaning it does not “get old” or go out of date. It’s often material you know you’ll be sending people to directly for months or years to come.
You’d use a blog PAGE instead on a Marketing PRO page in this case because you are sharing info and still want to allow (and encourage) your audience to comment and interact with you. A blog PAGE allows you to do that. A Marketing PRO page does not allow that interaction (but instead focuses the visitor on the specific action you want them to take.)
I trust that helps some for now. As I said, great topic for a future members webinar. And once we do that we’ll post that training/strategy session in the training area here.
There is so much information to take on board all at once. For us newbies, taking it one step at a time would be much more beneficial and effective.
My goal is to build an attractive website with great copy. If the training videos could be done highlighting one task at a time, where we had a serious of short videos specific to each task, this would give the newbies the ability to learn one feature at a time.
ie: placing a banner exactly where it needs to go, being able to upload it to the proper file and then knowing where and how to retrieve it. Etc.
We could then apply each lesson as we learn it in real time, and when one tack is completed, get on with the next video and task, thus building upon what we just previously learned and applied.
It is less daunting to eat an elephant one bite at a time. Right now there is so much information all at roled up on just two long videos.
Thanks for the great feedback Clare. We are currently in the process of creating some new training videos for the admin dashboard. Each one will be short and sweet and focus on the technical aspects of each task.
Keep an eye out for updates over the next few weeks as the videos are added to the system.
