Webinar Training (10-29-09): Getting Started With Your QuanSite

We held a special training call this week geared specifically towards all our new members and answering their questions about how to get started on the QuanSite System. We know it can be a little intimidating when you try to familiarize yourself with a new software platform. That’s why we want to make sure you feel confident and supported over the coming weeks as you set up your site. Tonight’s call gave you a taste of some of the additional perks you receive as a member of the QuanSite Family: direct access to Coach Deb and JP Micek on these calls.

If you’re new to both, Coach Deb is known for being on the bleeding edge of social media, particularly Twitter. As a frequent speaker on the seminar circuit, Coach Deb has access to the brightest strategists in other niches and always comes home with golden nuggets to share. Not only that, she’s also a great motivation coach and can help motivate you into action, FAST!

JP Micek’s primary coaching focus, on the other hand, is the theory and strategy of building your business. As a serial entrepreneur, he knows the challenges that beginning entrepreneurs face and helps create the systems to support them. JP is also the lead strategist behind the QuanSite system and leads the development team that works to ensure your QuanSite System remains on the cutting edge of New Media technologies.

Now both Coach Deb and JP regularly lead calls on their own that run an hour or longer so is it any surprise that when we put the two of them together, the call runs two hours? :-) Don’t worry, we’ve cut it down into manageable pieces and will release only one video per post.  The first video post is just under 30 minutes.  Enjoy

Getting Started with QuanSite Part I:

In Part I of the webinar training, you’ll discover:

Downloading & Installing Firefox Browser

We recommend that you use Firefox for a better experience with your Quan$ite admin dashboard. The widely available Internet Explorer (IE) isn’t designed to handle the advanced javascript technologies we use in the admin area.  That’s why we recommend that you use Firefox to access your admin dashboard.

PLEASE NOTE: We do work to ensure that on the front end (what your visitors see) is consistent across all platforms but given some of the advanced technologies we have on the back-end (where you go to add blog posts or pages to your hub site), Firefox is by far the superior product and designed to handle javascript code much better than IE can.

Our dashboard makes use of javascript coding that IE is just not capable of handling very well.  Firefox is freely available for download and is the recommended browser.

The following video will show you how to download and install Firefox.

Logging Into Your Control Panel and Creating A New Email Account

Your Quan$ite™ is not only a very robust Hub site, it is also a completely secure hosted solution.  You’ll be able to set up email accounts for your domain.  This is managed through your site’s Control Panel, or Cpanel.

While we create a “generic” email for you when your site is set up, adding personalized eMails for your domain is a great way to help with branding and creating more credibility for yourself.

The video below will show you how to log into your Cpanel and create a new email account.  You’ll also learn how to access your email via webmail and how to locate the information you’ll need to configure your Outlook or Mac mail to download your email.

Repointing Your Name Server

When you registered your Quan$ite, you had the option of registering a new domain or using an existing domain.  If you’ve purchased your domain through GoDaddy or NameCheap or any other domain registration service, you will need to change your nameserver to point to your Quan$ite Hub Site.

The following video will show you how to change the nameserver information for a domain that is registered through GoDaddy.
