Online Copyright Infringement: Simple Steps to Protect Yourself From Thieves

The New Media marketplace is all about “sharing” right? Well what about the hard work you’ve done or paid for to create valuable content for your Tribe? You want people spreading the word, but not taking credit for your work. In this video you’ll learn three some simple steps you can take to protect yourself against online copyright infringement without involving an attorney.

It doesn’t matter whether your business delivers services online or off-line — today EVERY business is online attracting customers (or at least should be.) Your intellectual property is one of the most valuable assets of your business today. You work hard to grow your Tribe by sharing lots of valuable information.

You may be sharing:

  • Free content you want passed along
  • Original content that people pay for
  • Unique names for your products, services or systems that you’ve developed

In every case there are lazy hacks out there who will try to steal your content, your processes, and even your products. These mental midgets will pass along part (or all) of your work and take full credit for it. Whether it’s to market their products or actually steal your digital material to sell it without you ever seeing a dime.

This is copyright infringement, and here’s how you can protect yourself aganst being a victim . . .

Simple steps to protect yourself against copyright infringement

In this video you’ll learn:

  • What you can do to protect yourself against copyright infringement?
  • How you can find if your material is being stolen?
  • What to do if you find somebody stealing your material?

So those are some simple steps to protect yourself against online copyright infringement. It’s something that we all deal with when using New Media marketing to grow our businesses online. Put them into action today by having someone on your team monitoring filters on a daily or weekly basis, and you’ll be protected at least at a base level.

A quick note regarding Google Alerts. You reduce false positives in alert results by using quotes from your work or digital fingerprints that you’ve inserted into your works to uniquely identify it.

There may be instances where getting an attorney involved is necessary, but these initial steps can save you thousands of dollars in attorney fees.

Hugh Hewitt Radio Interview With Coach Deb on Twitter for Business

WOW! I just found this radio interview Coach Deb did at last year’s Blog World Expo in Vegas with syndicated radio talk-show host Hugh Hewitt. In just 5-minutes Hugh draws out of Coach Deb more than two-dozen tips on using Twitter for business that you can IMMEDIATELY apply for yourself.

Hugh Hewitt’s radio show is heard in over 125 cities across the country every weekday. Hugh is a best-selling author as well, including one of the first published books on the power of New Media back in 2005 “Blog: Understanding the Information Reformation That’s Changing Your World” . . . yet he credits Coach Deb with introducing and educating him on the power of those little 140-character Twitter messages to deliver BIG results with more connections, more partnerships and more customers too!

Click the play button or download the interview to listen and you’ll learn:

  • Why using robots to get followers can deceive you (& kill your results)
  • Why “how do I get more followers?” is the wrong question to start with
  • How to separate good followers from bad
  • How to handle negativity when connecting and marketing in New Media
  • Why using New Media is unavoidable for ANY business or ANY size

Enjoy! ;-)
